Holly is a member of the Hertfordshire branch of the Acupuncture for Childbirth Team, a group of therapists who work with women in the area of fertility support and provide care throughout pregnancy and childbirth.
Gynaecology
Symptoms such as period pain, PMT and breast tenderness tend to be accepted as the norm however they need not be.  A few acupuncture treatments may be all that is needed to help with:
  • Irregular or absent periods
  • Heavy or scanty periods
  • Painful periods including breast pain and headaches related to the menstrual cycle
  • Pre-menstrual tension
  • Endometriosis and PCOS
  • Help with menopausal symptoms

Fertility
Research shows that acupuncture may benefit fertility by:
  • regulating the menstrual cycle and improving the lining of the uterus
  • regulating fertility hormones - stress and other factors can cause hormonal imbalances that can negatively impact fertility 
  • increasing blood flow to the reproductive organs 
  • counteracting the effects of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) - PCOS is one of the most common causes of female infertility
  • Male infertility is also treated, improving sperm count, motility and quality

Pregnancy
PregnancyAcupuncture is a safe and effective treatment during pregnancy for a variety of conditions:
  • Morning sickness
  • Turning breech babies (this treatment does note require the use of the needles)
  • Induction of labour
  • Post- natal support
